Cookstown's Stuart Dallas

Cookstown’s football star Stuart Dallas demonstrates that not only has he exceptional football talent but that of remarkable kindness as well.

The newlyweds, Stuart Dallas and his wife Juneve, who recently tied the knot in Dallas's home town of Cookstown, Co Tyrone travelled to America on honeymoon.  While travelling around Las Vegas they spotted a vulnerable, homeless man and carried out an amazing act of kindness.

The inspirational couple did not walk on by. Cookstown’s football star and his wife Juneve selflessly did what they could to help the homeless man as explained by Juneve when she posted a picture of Stuart and the man on Facebook, saying: “The amount of homeless people here is so sad. To bring this man into the shop an get him whatever he wanted, how much he appreciated it, the tears were rolling down his face. This world is so cruel.”

What’s more a woman from Cookstown, who has admired this remarkable act of kindness expressed, this is not the only kindly act the Cookstown footballer has carried out of late.

Judith Wilson, whose son Alex is eight-years-old and unwell, said the footballer paid little Alex a visit the day after the Northern Ireland’s homecoming celebration at Titanic, and just an hour before leaving to go on honeymoon.

“He came to our home the day after the big night in the Titanic Quarter and one hour before he left for his honeymoon to see our Alex,” she explained.

“He is eight and has been quite ill from March and was in and out of Antrim hospital from that time.

“My husband Stephen Wilson sent him a message to ask him could he come see Alex and spend some time with him.

“Stuart Dallas is Alex’s favourite Northern Ireland player and role model,” she expressed, “he even had to get his hair done like his - and he replied within minutes saying he would love to come see Alex.”

“Alex got the shock of his life when he opened the front door and Stuart was there. Honestly what a guy... And an absolute treasure to Cookstown.”

Dallas, who attended Cookstown Primary School and Cookstown High School during his education and, who winning the U14 and U15 Coleraine and District League titles with the high school in 2004 and 2005 later played for local side Coagh Unitedas an amateur. The success of the Cookstown lads’ football career continues and alongside his recent acts of kindness, Dallas is a role model for many.
