Although breaking from tradition and not the first road race of the year the Cookstown 100 is already attracting some of the best names around. Race day is the 30th of April and here are a few snippets to keep you interested.
 
Malachi Mitchell Thomas the star of the Antrim 150 riding the Cookstown/Burrows Engineering Racing machinery will take to the Orritor circuit for the first time. Malachi will line up alongside Mar-Trains Dan Kneen, NW Racings Derek McGee, B.E.Racings Derek Sheils, MJRs Michael Sweeney, Wilson Craigs runner, popular Czech rider, Michael Dukopil, PRB Racings Rob Barber, the underrated Seamus Elliot.
Cameron Donald, William & Michael Dunlop have shown interest in competing, but at the minute are provisional entries, however, the Cookstown and District MCC are optimistic, that come the end of the month Cameron, William and Michael will adorn the grid.
 
Australian Alex Pickett will make his Irish road race debut at this years KDM Hire Cookstown 100 road races.
Alex will race at the KDM Hire Cookstown 100, with view to having a look at the Irish road race scene for 2017!

Making a return visit to the KDM Hire Cookstown 100 is Chris Watson. I so much enjoyed this event last year, it was a Must do for 2016! Last year was my first ever Cookstown 100, I entered and finished my three races, well chuffed, just finishing outside the top ten in each, and the real bonus for me, was getting a cheque in the post ,My FIRST bit of Prize money!!lol.
