As this is our very first blog post, we thought we would take this opportunity to briefly explain how we will be using our blog section, firstly to introduce ourselves and our business and also to keep you up to date with our latest products, designs and lots of exciting and exclusive special offers! Here at www.mymemento.co.uk we are also huge fans of competitions, they are a great way to get people involved, and let’s face it who doesn't love a free gift. So keep an eye out for amazing not to be missed competitions and free giveaways!!

First thing first, the introductions. www.mymemento.co.uk was started in summer 2013 by Conor Driscoll (that's me) and my partner of 13 years Sharon Driscoll. We have both always shared a love of photography and art and just beautiful images in general. In the early 2000's we met and travelled to Canada on a cross community project where we both had the experience of a lifetime, and had our minds and horizons broadened by meeting people from lots of different religions, backgrounds and nationalities. It really was a life changing experience.
It was also while there i really began to fall in love with photography. I took a job with a fantastic photographer and all round great guy called Kris Kawalsakowski. Kris did a lot of vehicle photography, creating the most amazing images of vintage American motorbikes, cars, and large machinery in general. We would go on location to take the shots, then process and enhance them in the studio. It was incredibly fun and exciting work, and I learned a huge amount in the few months i spent there.

When we returned home, i took a job in the sales sector, while Sharon started her own successful business as a child minder. We both settled into our daily lives and began to start our family, but I always carried with me my love of photography and my desire to start a photography related business.
Fast forward to 2012, I was looking for a new business idea and attended a trade show in Birmingham NEC. This is where I first discovered Sublimation Printing. When I saw the photographic images it was possible to create with the process, I was totally blown away! I simply had never seen ANYTHING that could compare to it, both in colour vibrancy and clarity of image, I was amazed. After returning home and researching the process further, and discovering the superiority of quality compared to other printing techniques, and just the sheer versatility of materials and products that could be produced, I knew there and then I had found the business for me, and the seeds of My Memento were sewn.

Since those initial early days, we have spent our time finding the best suppliers\materials possible, as well as developing and perfecting our design and printing techniques. And by initially testing and developing our business idea through Facebook and word of mouth referrals, we have built a very loyal and supportive customer base, who keep coming back again and again. We would like to take this opportunity to thank those loyal first customers and ask for your continued support and referrals (If you’ve had a good experience, share it).It is our hope that with this new, user friendly e-commerce website, it will make it even easier for you the customer to find exactly what you want, and to help us spread the word about our amazing products and services.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the great folks over at https://www.mycookstown.com/ for their continued mentorship and support which has been invaluable. If you have not been on the site yet, please pay them a visit, it is a great place to find reliable local businesses, or just to find out what’s going on in the local community. And if you own a business in the Cookstown or Omagh area, do yourself a favour and get in touch to see what they can do to help you, you will not be disappointed.

Now at the risk of boring you, I will bring this post to a close, but I would just like to encourage you to browse through our site and see what interests you, keep in mind the site is a work in progress, so we would welcome any feedback (negative as well as positive) to help improve the site and the experience for you our valued customer. So remember, If it is a one of a kind gift you want, or a range of branded products to promote your business, or if you want to turn a treasured photograph into a stunning work of high definition art, then you have come to the right place.

. Here at www.mymemento.co.uk we have three main goals:
1. Show off your photographs in the most stunning way possible.
2. Promote your organisation through quality branded merchandise.
3. Remove the hassle from choosing a gift.

If we can achieve all these things we will be very happy, and we hope to have very many satisfied customers. Until next time, best regards, and now let’s get creative!

Conor.
