Cookstown businesses - 10 free tips to help your business page on facebook.

For all the businesses in the Cookstown District.  Here's your 10 free tips to help your business  facebook.page.
In language you will understand.

1 - If you run a business you need to have a business facebook page – it’s that simple.  Posting on a private page will never build your business. Don’t start a business page unless you are going to run it like your business. We spend an hour  - 7 days a week on ours.

2 - Change your cover picture every month to keep your page fresh,  with the benefit that every change appears in the news feed. Make sure the picture fits correctly into the space and it reflects what you do as a business. It's basically your advert for your business.
Make sure it looks sharp and if you need a designer to make it for you, YES spend the cash.

3 – Your profile picture and it’s very important you get this right. - use a logo that people associate with your business, as your profile picture. It follows you in Facebook as a thumbnail and appears on your posts and adverts.

4 – Facebook likes - Some people still buy likes and waste their time on sites trying to get other companies to like them. Why I don’t know, other than maybe to give an impression their Facebook Page is a success. Growing your number of likes takes time, patience and hard work. Very similar to a new business.

5 – Posting on your facebook – You will see on your business facebook page how many people you reach each week.  Aim to create at least two posts a day, seven days a week to improve your visibility in the news feed. This takes discipline and time but in the end well worth it. ( We regularly reach 10,000 people each week)

6 – Use time posts to do you’re posting on facebook. -  That means you can get up in the morning and do all your posts for the day and they will automatically post at the time you set them. Set the time for when people will be on facebook, early mornings, lunch time or evenings.

7 – The 4 square boxes below your banner called the tabs.  Your photo’s will always in 1 and keep the tab up with the number of likes. Now you have 2 others to use and you will need help with these. There are in a prime position on your page – check out what have done with ours at www.facebook.com/MyCookstownNI.

8 - The about section -  Make the time and write good content on this. If anyone wants to find out about your company,  this is what they look at. So many companies don’t fill this in and you miss an opportunity for a customer to contact you.  Again check out what we have done at www.facebook.com/MyCookstownNI

9  - Messages – these are customers speaking directly to you. Answer them politely and within 24 hours.  Good business owners learn from listening to their customers.  Don’t be afraid to say sorry if you get it wrong.

10 – Your likes on your business page – make sure you keep these up to date on your page they keep rotating each time anyone looks at your page.  All your fans see what you like and it can help promote other businesses.
